A wiki is a Fast+Simple way of knowledge sharing using the web. It enables documents to be written collaboratively by anyone using a Web browser. A wiki as defined by Wikipedia is a type of web site “that allows users to easily add, remove or otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration.”
Wiki is the Hawaian word for ‘fast’. Wikis started 15 years ago when Ward Cunningham developed c2.com as a company website application. He wanted to make it easy to exchange ideas between programmers by providing pages that could be very quickly edited by a community of users. He described a wiki as “the simplest online database that could possibly work.”
